Twitter ye not!

I’ve spent the last few weeks developing a presence on twitter. Some people don’t like it, fear it, even hate it, but I’ve had some great response from it.

One example is a direct message exchange from one of my favourite authors. That kind of thing wouldn’t happen in the ‘real’ world without a lot of effort, finding out where to be to meet them, getting there and then actually creating an opportunity to speak to them. Not to mention having the courage to do all that!

It’s also brilliant for circulation of links to bits of my work, I’ve discovered other people’s work that I might have missed and entered discussions that would definitely have bypassed me before.

In short, it’s networking without the legwork, isn’t that what the internet should be about?

If you haven’t tried it, do. As the saying goes, you can’t knock it if you haven’t!
