I’m not going to say on here where I work, some know, please don’t mention names if you reply, I’ll edit it out!
I’m working on making a difference there, developing a system to report on our environmental impact. We are actually not one of the bad guys, our building is modern and I have proved we are heading in the right direction.
This thread isn’t about the company per se, it’s about what I’m achieving.
So far I have:
* Analysed electricity consumption on the main site
* Analysed fuel consumption for the largest division
* Assessed waste management
* Kicked off a project to analyse the cost and environmental impact of printing and copying
* Raised awareness in the business
I have written reports on all these areas, all of which have been well received by the managers concerned, all of whom are working to make improvements, partly to make savings but also because they are starting to care.
I’m rather pleased with myself if I’m really honest, particularly because our parent company is now starting to look at environmental issues and we are ready for it! Yay!
I’m hopeful that we will be working towards accreditation in the near future.
